Although scoring music for films and television is not a new phenomenon, in the Eastern Partnership countriesand Russia there is currently no formal higher education programme for it. We are delighted to be working with the Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Centre (Kyiv) on the first local development programme for film composers. Envision Sound will take place in Kyiv from 21-27 January 2018 and will offer emerging film composers from Ukraine as well as Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Poland, Russia and Turkey) the chance to spend a week immersed in a programme curated and led by established film composers Michael Price (UK) and Alla Zagaykevych (Ukraine).

We invite professionals interested in taking part in the programme to apply. The call for applications opens on August 29th and will last until September 28th. We are looking for 12 participants – at least six emerging film composers from Ukraine, and one participant from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Poland, Russia, and Turkey.

Applicants must be composers at an early/mid-stage in their careers, have written music for at least 2 films/videos of any genre, and a clear motivation to continue developing their work in this sector.
