The British Council, in partnership with Tbilisi International Festival of Theatre, presented 111, a powerful duet between two exceptional dancers – Joel Brown and Eve Mutso – as they explore their different strengths and vulnerabilities. Joel is a paraplegic dancer, self-trained, who dances with CandoCo, the UK’s leading inclusive dance company, and Eve is a former principal dancer with Scottish Ballet.
111 is the number of vertebrae that Joel and Eve have between them… hypothetically. Eve “moves like she has a hundred”, and Joel’s spine is fused and he jokes he only has 11.
